Needle-Like Buds from 800m Altitude
Maojian Green Tea
Hand-plucked single buds from high-mountain gardens. Each leaf is a slender needle of concentrated catechins and L-theanine.
High-Altitude Stress Response
Grown at 800m+ elevation, the cooler temperatures and UV exposure trigger the tea plant to produce higher concentrations of catechins (EGCG) and amino acids. This is why mountain-grown green tea tastes sweeter.
Hand-Rolled Needle Shape
Each bud is hand-rolled into a needle shape within 2 hours of picking, locking in the fresh grassy aroma. Low-temperature baking (120C) preserves the delicate polyphenols.
Flat-tasting green tea with no real antioxidant benefit?
- ๐จ Machine-harvested tea (old leaves, bitter taste)
- ๐จ High-heat processing (destroys catechins)
- ๐จ Stale, months-old inventory
Single-bud, high-mountain Maojian - the most concentrated form of green tea antioxidant.
THE DETAILS THAT MATTER
The primary catechin in green tea. Maojian produces 30-40% more EGCG than lowland varieties. Supports metabolic rate and cellular protection.
The amino acid responsible for green tea's unique calm alertness. High-altitude stress increases theanine production, giving Maojian its sweet umami aftertaste.
Fresh green tea leaves contain more vitamin C than oranges. The hand-rolling and low-temp baking preserve this heat-sensitive vitamin.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A: Maojian uses only the youngest single buds, hand-plucked from high-altitude gardens. The stress of mountain growing increases EGCG and theanine content 30-40% above lowland tea.
A: Use 80C water (not boiling - boiling water burns the delicate buds). Steep 2-3 minutes. These buds can be re-steeped 3-4 times.
A: The hand-rolling process shapes each bud into a slender needle. This isn't just aesthetic - the tight needle shape locks in freshness and aroma.
